Overview
Join to apply for the Construction Solicitor role at Clarke Willmott.
About The Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a junior construction lawyer with a keen interest in contentious work to join a well regarded team that consistently features in the Legal 500 and Chambers publications.
Role
Our Construction team has a strong national presence and is made up of 13 fee-earners and is led by James Driver. The role is for a contentious construction lawyer (NQ – 3 PQE) to work in a national team. You will be involved in high quality, complex adjudication and litigation (including Protocol) work, and provide strategic advice and flexible dispute resolution solutions for clients, including through mediation. There may be opportunities to undertake some non-contentious work, but this is not a requirement for the role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Handle contentious construction matters, including adjudication and litigation
* Provide strategic advice and dispute resolution solutions for clients (national developers, contractors, housebuilders, and housing associations in the social housing sector)
* Engage in business development and networking opportunities
* Maintain information security and adhere to firm policies and procedures
What the role offers: opportunities to gain one-to-one development with the wider national team, significant client contact and responsibility, and a commercially focused, pragmatic approach to client needs.
The role is right for you if you have talent, ambition and a real interest in construction work. You may be newly qualified or have several years of experience and be ready to take the next step, with the ability to manage workload with light touch supervision (ideally with construction experience or a construction seat).
We value hard-working team players and a positive culture with a strong work-life balance. While deadlines exist, long hours are not seen as essential for great client service.
