Your new role:
We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. You’ll be responsible for providing a high-quality cost management and estimating service for allocated projects.
The team consists of 6 Quantity Surveyors and 1 Estimator, offering opportunities to collaborate, share ideas, and implement best practices.
The projects are diverse, ranging from major capital projects like the County Council’s new offices at Top Wighay and new build education projects to refurbishment projects under the County Council’s School Building Improvement Programme. All sites are based in Nottinghamshire, supporting a better work-life balance. You’ll also have the support of the wider team to develop cost-effective, innovative solutions to complex challenges.

What you’ll do:
* Provide estimates and cost plans at the feasibility stage.
* Deliver cost management services.
* Compile contract documentation with contractors and supply chain members.
* Provide monthly cost and value reports for project fee incomes.
* Maintain financial control of contractor and subcontractor accounts, including managing Compensation Events.
* Procure external design and survey consultants, including drafting and issuing appointments.
* Advise business stream teams on commercial and contractual matters.
* Provide commercial management information aligned with reporting requirements.
* Ensure safety, health, and environmental considerations are addressed in all contract documents.
What you’ll bring:

* A degree in quantity surveying or relevant experience in the field.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
