Shift Pattern: Primarily Day Shift (Flexibility Required – Potential for Night Shift)

Our client, a well-established precision engineering company based in the Cambridge area, is currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller with strong setting and operating experience. Role Overview:
As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines – primarily HAAS – to produce precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a flexible approach to working hours, as the role may evolve to include night shifts in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines (mainly HAAS)
2. Interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
3. Ensure all components are machined to meet quality and technical specifications
4. Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)
5. Maintain a clean and safe working environment
6. Work collaboratively with the production team to meet targets and deadlines
Requirements:
7. Proven experience in setting and operating CNC milling machines (5-axis experience preferred)
8. Experience with HAAS controls is highly advantageous
9. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
10. Basic understanding of CNC programming is beneficial but not essential
11. Flexibility to work different shifts, including potential night shifts in the future
12. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable:
13. CNC programming experience (especially on HAAS controls or similar)
14. Experience working in a precision engineering environment
