Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our small nursing home in Leslie, Fife KY6 3EY. Monday - Friday 09:30 - 15:30. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and needs of our residents, including those with Dementia. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere and promoting social interaction among residents.
Duties
* Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that meets the diverse needs of residents, ensuring inclusivity for those with varying levels of ability.
* Organise recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
* Collaborate with care staff to assess residents' interests and capabilities, tailoring activities accordingly.
* Facilitate group activities as well as individual sessions to encourage participation among all residents.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities programme.
* Ensure a safe environment for all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations while providing supervision as needed.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on activity planning.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
* Familiarity with senior care practices, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care, is highly desirable.
* Strong caregiving skills with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of our residents.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
