Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams.
Role and responsibilities
* Be an officer in the Compliance and Monitoring team, part of the Reservoir Regulation team, responsible for monitoring compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence and record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers, providing information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
Team and environment
* You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate.
* The Reservoir Regulation team is nationally dispersed with 25+ staff, responsible for the regulation of more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. Some travel and overnight stays will be required.

Additional information
* This is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week).
* This is a national role so you can be based at any Environment Agency office.
* Travel and incident response duties may be required. Training and incident response participation is part of working for the Environment Agency.
* Interviews will take place remotely on Microsoft Teams (week commencing 06 October 2025).
