We are a leading London-based commercial fit-out contractor delivering high-quality workplace and interior projects across the capital. Our portfolio includes CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs, refurbishments, and complex workplace transformations for blue-chip clients, landlords, and developers.
Due to the award of a £20m flagship commercial office fit-out project in central London, we are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery phase on site.
The Role as a Senior Construction Manager
The Senior Construction Manager will play a key leadership role in the successful delivery of a large-scale commercial fit-out project. You will oversee the day-to-day construction operations, manage site teams and subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with the Project Director, commercial team, design managers, and client representatives to ensure seamless coordination throughout the build phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all on-site construction activities on a £20m commercial office fit-out project
* Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to maintain programme delivery
* Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and site compliance
* Monitor project programme and proactively address delays or risks
* Maintain quality control across all fit-out works
* Chair site coordination meetings and progress reviews
* Work closely with the commercial team to manage variations and cost implications
* Collaborate with design and technical teams to resolve buildability challenges
* Report progress to senior leadership and client stakeholders
* Support the successful handover and completion of the project
Requirements
* Proven experience delivering large commercial fit-out projects (£10m+ ideally)
* Strong background working for a commercial fit-out contractor
* Extensive knowledge of CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs
* Demonstrated leadership managing site teams and multiple subcontractors
* Strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage fast-paced projects within tight city-centre programmes
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
* SMSTS certification (essential)
* CSCS Black or Gold Card
* First Aid (desirable)
