Electrical Estimator
Location: Tyneside
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Are you an experienced electrical professional with a keen eye for detail and a flair for estimating? We’re looking for a motivated Electrical Estimator to join our established engineering team at our modern facility located within Tyneside.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll play a key role in our tendering process, supporting the business by preparing accurate, detailed quotations and helping manage client relationships from initial enquiry through to project handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop accurate cost estimates using client drawings, technical specs, and equipment schedules
* Update existing quotations in line with new client information or project changes
* Ensure all proposals meet internal standards and quality benchmarks
* Track and manage multiple quotations simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met
* Maintain and build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
* Record quotation activity and customer interactions in our CRM system
* Liaise with internal departments to ensure alignment on pricing and delivery lead times
* Source supplier and subcontractor pricing for materials, transport, and labour
* Assess potential project risks and support in planning job timescales
* Support commercial activities including tender submissions and contract bids

Essential Skills and Experience:
* Solid understanding of electrical and control systems
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* ONC (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering discipline
* A logical, organised approach to multi-tasking and managing priorities
Desirable Extras:
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
* Experience with production engineering processes
