The Project
The Retail, Hotel and Leisure sub‑sector lead role involves leading and developing a world‑class multi‑disciplinary consultancy business across the UK and Europe, building upon a strong reputation in this sector and benefiting from the successful Mace brand. The sub‑sector lead reports to the Business Unit Director for the Commercial sector, in the Consult engine.Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and strategic direction to the retail, hotel and leisure sector sub‑sector in Mace.
* Collaborate with other sub‑sector leads to share best practice, intelligence and client relationships.
* Partner with regional and practice leads to deliver on the business plan.
* Recruit, motivate and develop quality people to support Mace’s growth in the retail and leisure sector.
* Promote effective communications within the business and with clients.
* Manage and liaise with other directors of the business.
* Ensure adequate capacity and capability of resources available to clients.
* Obtain appropriate training and development for staff.
* Sustain Mace values, behaviours and culture within the business unit.
* Build strong working relationships with senior client representatives.
* Prepare realistic and deliverable marketing/BD strategy for the sector in Mace.
* Maintain effective client relationship/account management with sector clients.
* Act as the face of the company in client dealings and the wider industry.
* Partner with marketing and communications teams to raise sector profile.
* Establish appropriate strategies for delivering relevant projects and programmes.
* Develop realistic resource plans and budgets for project work.
Qualifications
* Respected leader with excellent management, team‑building and motivational skills.
* Strategic and innovative thinker with extensive market knowledge and client relationship management skills.
* Proven record of winning business plan objectives and translating strategy into profitable, sustainable business.
* Full‑time senior director able to work autonomously and create a collaborative team culture.
* Excellent communicator visible to colleagues and industry through the role.
* Comfortable dealing with people at all levels within the industry and confident in discussing current issues with executive leadership.
* Capable of contributing fresh ideas on strategy, business planning and service delivery that challenge normal practice.
