A rare opportunity exists to join Rochdale AMHP Hub as an Advanced Practitioner Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), delivering Rochdale Borough Council's statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 (as amended 2007). This role is part of mental health transformation and represents further investment in the successful AMHP Hub model.
The Job:
The post holder will be part of a team of five full-time, Advanced Practitioner AMHPs. The primary focus during working hours will be on Mental Health Act responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves developing policies and procedures, building links with partners, and contributing to the team's development, profile, and networks.

* Registered with Social Work England
* Qualified practicing AMHP
Knowledge and Skills Required:
The candidate should have significant experience as an AMHP, be legally literate regarding the application of the MHA and related legislation, and possess the skills to assess and prioritize referrals based on risk. The role requires strong cooperative skills, dependability, adaptability, professional accountability, and effective communication skills. Collaboration with wider teams and partners such as mental health trusts, community mental health teams, police, and housing is essential. Knowledge of prevention and strengths-based approaches is also important.
The Offer:
* Salary: Grade 9, £43,693 - £47,754, plus a market factor supplement of £2025 per annum
* Full-time hours: 148 hours over a 4-week AMHP rota with compressed working hours, including rest days and admin time for wellbeing.
* Supportive team environment with experienced AMHPs, a hub manager, backup management, and access to legal advice.
* Regular supervision and links with management through the AMHP business meetings.
* Support for maintaining annual 18 hours of AMHP training as per 2008 regulations.
* Opportunities for qualified Best Interest Assessors (BIA) to join the BIA rota, plus training and placements for students and ASYE.
