Job Description
My client, a well-established business within the construction sector, is looking for a qualified and proactive Accountant to join their finance team in Billingham. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals/prepayments
* Post journals with accuracy and attention to deadlines
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
* Manage CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns on a monthly basis
* Submit quarterly onshore intermediaries reports
* Oversee the purchase ledger across group companies and support the sales invoicing process to ensure accuracy
What We’re Looking For
* Excellent communication skills, confident dealing with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
* Proficient user of Excel
* Knowledge of Sage 200 is desirable (training can be provided)
* Understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme is an advantage
* Familiarity with payroll processes would be beneficial
Salary & Benefits
* £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience)
* 26 days holiday (rising to 28 after 4 years) plus Bank Holidays

* Full-time hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm
