Role Summary
The post holder will provide strong operational leadership within Oncology, Haematology and Medical Physics to ensure transformative, effective, and efficient delivery of cross site services. The Senior Operations Manager will have input into the development and implementation of the Care Group plan which will maintain patient care to the highest levels of safety and effectiveness; ensure efficient and equitable use of resources; promote a culture that is progressive and inclusive; meet the objectives contained within the Trust priorities and operational plan.

We are inviting applications for an exceptional Senior Operations Manager (Band 8a) to provide strategic and hands-on operational leadership across Oncology, Haematology and Medical Physics within the Clinical Specialist Services Care Group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with multiple clinical and administrative professions across both our Northern and Eastern sites. The role offers a stimulating mix of challenge and variety, spanning performance management, service delivery, and operational leadership.

You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting services that are deeply interconnected with multiple pathways across the organisation. Your remit will include:
* Driving performance outcomes and service-level governance
* Solving complex staffing challenges across medical and clinical teams

* Demonstrated senior clinical operational experience
* A strong understanding of cancer pathways and performance
* A versatile skillset to navigate diverse operational challenges
* Proven ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Location & Flexibility
The post is primarily based in Exeter, with a regular commitment of one day per week in Barnstaple to ensure consistent support across the organisation. We’re proud to offer flexible working arrangements and are happy to discuss individual preferences.
