We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team and grow alongside our business. MES Contractors has been running for over 45 years and due to new clients and company growth we are looking to train a new Electrical Estimator. This is a key role in our business and would sit someone that wants to progress and become an integral part of senior management.
We are a very relaxed company to work for, although estimating is high pressure with tight deadlines we all help each other and have a very chilled out office environment. Our office is dog friendly so someone who loves dogs is a must. There is no scope to work from home and this job is 5 days a week in our office at Gravesend.
Duties
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation using our estimating software.
* Collaborate with suppliers, sub-contractors and our Purchasing Manager to gather necessary information for estimates.
* Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations for cost control measures.
* Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
* Build relationships with clients and follow up on tenders. We have strong relationships with long-term clients and this is something we want to build on going forward.
Experience
* Must be a qualified Gold Card electrician at a minimum
* 7 years + experience in estimating
* Knowledge of JCT contracts is preferable
* We use Cypher estimating system - experience with an electrical estimating system is a must, happy to provide Cypher training.
* Strong attention to detail
* Not scared to pick up the phone, go out with clients and chase securing tenders
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with team members and clients.
