About the Role
The successful applicant will join a dynamic Community Child Health Department within Combined Child Health Service of NHS Grampian. The post is for 40 hours per week, fixed term until 31 March 2027, and will involve working within the new Aberdeen City Bairn’s Hoose, a child‑centric model that brings together justice, health, social work and recovery support services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist child protection services to children and young people living in and around Aberdeen.
* Act as a key member of the Bairn’s Hoose team, supporting the development and delivery of integrated services.
* Work as part of the NHSG Child Protection Specialist Team at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
Qualifications & Experience
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors must have specialist registration awarded to be eligible for a substantive consultant post.
* International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC with confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required, and the licence must be in place prior to starting the post.
