THE ROLE
The IT Infrastructure Technician is responsible for providing IT support to the business, offering IT solutions and building relationships with employees, partners and suppliers.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
The IT Infrastructure Technician plays a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of the company’s IT systems and infrastructure. A key part of the role involves installing and configuring software on new hardware and equipment to ensure smooth deployment across the business. The Technician provides direct support to staff, guiding them through setups and troubleshooting processes, whether face-to-face, over the phone or via email.
The role involves prioritising and managing support tickets, working through tasks until completion, and liaising with external support services when required. The Technician takes ownership of the business’s communication infrastructure and is responsible for managing IT software contracts and monitoring monthly departmental costs. They also support budget management activities within the IT department.
Another important area of responsibility includes procuring and managing IT equipment, ensuring that all assets meet operational needs. The Technician is expected to troubleshoot system and network issues, diagnose hardware and software faults, and ensure that any disruptions are resolved efficiently. They maintain procedural documentation and generate relevant reports to support ongoing operations and planning.
Throughout the year, the Technician assists in delivering key system upgrades and is responsible for maintaining both the internal IT knowledge base and the IT audit. They also oversee compliance and certification activities, including the business’s Cyber Essentials accreditation.
In managing the rollout of new devices, the Technician ensures that asset management records are kept accurate and up to date. They contribute to team effectiveness by supporting ongoing tasks within the IT function and provide day-to-day guidance to the IT Apprentice. Flexibility is essential, and the Technician may be asked to carry out additional tasks as required by the IT department.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS
* Level 4 - BSc Digital Technology Solutions Specialist – Network Engineer or equivalent would be an advantage
* Familiarity with Microsoft products (Entra, Intune, SharePoint & 365 apps)
* Familiarity with Apple Business Manager
* Experience with PowerShell is beneficial but not essential
* Experience with an on-premises, hybrid and fully cloud based environment
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced IT department, ideally in an IT Helpdesk or support role
* Good communication skills, on the telephone and in writing. Ability to build relationships at all levels across the business

* A team player, but self-motivated and able to work autonomously
