Job Description:
Join our community! We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Company Secretariat Assistant to join the UK Corporate Governance Office. You’ll be part of a team providing high-quality governance advice and support to Santander UK boards and committees, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and governance best practices throughout the group.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with running the Board Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee, Results Committee, and Economic Crime Committee. This includes preparing for meetings, taking minutes, and distributing actions.
2. Managing your own portfolio of subsidiary legal entities.
3. Contributing to the preparation of the annual report and financial statements.
4. Adhering to statutory compliance and governance standards, internal governance requirements, and considering new business and legislative developments/projects.
Requirements:
* Company secretarial experience, preferably in a listed or financial services company.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders (Chairman, Non-Executive Directors, Senior Executives).
Preferred skills and experience:
* Minute writing skills and some knowledge of the Companies Act.
* Working towards or interested in qualifying under the Chartered Governance Institute or equivalent.
* Experience assisting with running Board Committees.
* Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Additional information:
This permanent role is based at Unity Place, Milton Keynes. We support flexible working patterns, with a hybrid approach requiring attendance of at least a few days per month.
