Hospice in the Weald is looking for an exceptional clinical professional to join our team as a dual Clinical Educator and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Link Practitioner.

This dual-role position is pivotal in shaping the future of hospice care through high-quality clinical education and robust infection prevention practices. You will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of tailored clinical education programmes, ensuring our multidisciplinary team is supported, skilled, and confident in delivering outstanding care.
As the IPC Link Practitioner, you will oversee infection prevention strategies across the organisation, working closely with our external consultancy partner, Infection Prevention Solutions (IPS), to ensure compliance with national standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Education:
1. Develop and deliver engaging, patient-centred clinical education programmes.
2. Lead the implementation of competency frameworks to support professional development.
3. Conduct training needs analysis in collaboration with the Governance Team and Learning & Development Manager.
4. Mentor and guide staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice.
5. Promote evidence-based approaches and disseminate best practice across the organisation.
Infection Prevention & Control:
6. Oversee the IPC programme across all hospice sites.
7. Provide specialist input in infection identification, prevention, and control.
8. Lead and support a network of IPC Champions, facilitating training and updates.
9. Monitor infection control practices, conduct audits, and contribute to improvement plans.
10. Act as a key point of contact for IPC queries and support management in clinical decision-making.
11. Monitor staff compliance with IPC policies and initiate actions to uphold standards.
