Description
Coordinate designated study programme delivery activities for the College, including planning and delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment. Provide feedback to students, inspiring and motivating them through outstanding teaching that challenges them to excel.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Deliver high-quality teaching within A-Level Sociology, including preparing materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans, developing the curriculum, assessing student work, and monitoring progress. Ensure statutory compliance including safeguarding and health and safety.
2. Manage day-to-day course operations, including communication, problem-solving, timetable management, and coordinating internal verification and assessments.
3. Assist with student recruitment, enrolment, induction, and managing course placements and transfers.
4. Hold regular meetings with students, set SMART targets, assist with UCAS applications, and support pastoral care.
5. Monitor attendance and academic performance, and implement improvement strategies where necessary.
6. Support English and Maths provision, including monitoring attendance and student progress.
7. Participate in College meetings, quality assurance activities, and staff development events.
8. Contribute to departmental administration and internal verification processes.
