Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Bankside College – Worcestershire WR8 0AD
Salary: £33,000 pro rata (dependent on experience). Basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+*
Hours: 15 hours per week, Flexible on which 2 days are selected. Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances). Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
*Salary figures are indicative and dependent on experience.
Role and responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, in collaboration with the education team.
* Work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Support the growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants as part of an enhanced SLT service.
* Maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach and work within a multi-disciplinary team to enable pupils to flourish with increasing independence.
Essential criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy (BSc (Hons) or equivalent).
* HCPC registration.
* 1–2 years’ experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting.
* Experience engaging with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice; experience in multidisciplinary working and communicating with families/carers.
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group.
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
* Knowledge of arousal levels and their relationship to communication.
