Business Development Lead (Social Value)

Remote role. Salary £85-90K plus bonus plus benefits

Influence the future of social value in the UK

A growing UK technology platform at the centre of the social value ecosystem is looking for a Business Development Lead to help shape how organisations measure and deliver impact.

This role is quite different from a typical BD position. It’s not primarily quota-driven sales. Instead, it focuses on ecosystem influence, partnerships, and market development across the evolving UK social value and procurement landscape.

The platform works with organisations across government, infrastructure, healthcare and professional services to help them measure, evidence and communicate their social, environmental and economic impact — an area becoming increasingly central to public procurement and ESG strategies.

If you enjoy being at the centre of market conversations — spotting trends early, building meaningful partnerships and helping shape how a sector evolves — this role could be a strong fit.

The opportunity

This is a senior, outward-facing role focused on building influence across the UK social value ecosystem.

You will help position the organisation at the heart of conversations around procurement reform, ESG, impact measurement and responsible business.

The role combines strategic partnerships, sector engagement and opportunity creation.

What you’ll be doing

* Building relationships across the UK social value ecosystem including consultancies, public sector bodies, framework providers and membership organisations
* Identifying and developing strategic partnerships that expand market reach
* Representing the organisation at sector events, roundtables and working groups
* Staying close to regulatory change, procurement developments and ESG trends
* Identifying early-stage opportunities created by policy change or emerging markets
* Contributing to thought leadership and sector insight
* Supporting high-value tenders, RFIs and strategic proposals
* Feeding market intelligence into product, marketing and leadership teams

What they’re looking for

You may come from consulting, partnerships, public sector advisory, ESG, social impact or procurement environments.

Strong candidates typically bring:

* Experience in business development, partnerships, stakeholder engagement or market development
* Understanding of UK public procurement and social value requirements
* Exposure to ESG, sustainability or impact measurement
* Experience contributing to tenders, frameworks or strategic proposals
* A strong professional network within relevant sectors
* Confidence representing an organisation externally and engaging senior stakeholders

Why this role stands out

* Influence how social value is delivered across the UK economy
* Work at the intersection of policy, technology and impact
* Join a mission-driven organisation shaping a rapidly evolving market
* Play a highly visible role across industry networks and sector conversations
* Flexible working with a collaborative team environment

If you're interested in playing a visible role in shaping the future of social value and ESG in the UK, it would be great to start a conversation.
