Hours: Full-Time – 36.50 - 4.5 days in office
Job Purpose Caterpillar’s Peterlee UK location is currently hiring an EHS Associate which is part of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our three strategic outcomes:

This role will directly support the fabrication, paint and sub-assembly value streams. At the core, it involves partnering with our operational teams to enhance EHS performance so we can make things easy to go right.
Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Support the enhancement and implementation of the EHS management systems to align to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
* Support the development of short and long-term EHS risk management strategies by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Support engagement and assurance activities such as site wide communication campaigns and internal audit.
* Facilitate investigations to drive cross functional learning and focus on replication to sustain corrective actions
Essential Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate
Desirable Qualifications
* NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
* Investigation Training
* Internal Audit Training

Top Candidates will have
* Minimum 3+ Years experience in working in an EHS advisor role
* Proven experience in management system development and implementation, event investigations, internal audit, and influencing stakeholders to enhance EHS performance.
Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
