About the Role
We are working with a specialist complex needs school in BS13 that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teacher to join their team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to teach pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex medical needs, physical disabilities, and communication needs. The school provides a highly supportive environment with excellent facilities and a strong multidisciplinary team.
As a PMLD Teacher, you will plan and deliver highly personalised lessons that focus on communication, sensory engagement, life skills, and individual progress.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons for pupils with PMLD
2. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and healthcare professionals
3. Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
4. Monitoring progress using EHCP targets and personalised outcomes
5. Supporting pupils with sensory, communication, and physical needs
6. Building strong relationships with families and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
8. Experience teaching or supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs
9. Strong understanding of sensory and communication-based approaches
10. A patient, nurturing, and adaptable teaching style
11. Ability to lead and support a classroom team
12. Commitment to inclusive education
