About the role: Facilities & Maintenance OfficerActivate Learning is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Officer to join the team at our Surrey Campuses (Guildford & Merrist Wood) keeping the campuses safe, secure, compliant, and fully operational to support teaching and learning.As a Facilities & Maintenance Officer, you will act as a hands-on handyperson carrying out a wide range of day-to-day compliance and maintenance tasks across the campus. Duties include unlocking and securing buildings, general repairs, painting and decorating, setting up rooms for events, moving furniture, and health and safety and compliance checks. You will also monitor site security, respond to helpdesk requests, maintain external areas, and oversee waste and recycling processes.This is a varied, practical role, ideal for a reliable and proactive individual who enjoys hands-on trade related work and problem-solving in a facilities or handyperson environment.This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week with an on-call rota for one week in four and some support at other campuses in Surrey when needed.What do you need to be successful as a Facilities & Maintenance Officer at Activate Learning?The successful candidate will be a proactive, solutions-focused individual with a strong team ethic and a customer-focused approach to facilities support. You will be confident working independently as a handyperson, handling routine maintenance and compliance tasks while ensuring health and safety standards are met.
