Overview: apetito is keen to promote excellent teamwork by employing people who have a positive attitude and are prepared to learn a variety of skills to work in different positions within the department. This approach helps the department produce quality products efficiently. Staff are trained to be multi-functional and capable of performing various functions when colleagues are absent. This role is permanent, working 36 hours per week from Saturday to Monday, 06:00-18:00.

apetito is the UK's leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors, serving over 1,300 care homes, healthcare, and education settings. Our meals are crafted by dieticians and chefs and then frozen to preserve quality. Our sister company, Wiltshire Farm Foods, is the UK's largest ready meal supplier, offering over 330 different frozen meals across the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Wash and sanitize production areas and equipment
* Waste removal and segregation
* Clean staff facilities
* Remove dirty overalls and replenish with clean ones
* Clean outside areas, including waste areas, with high pressure
* Perform minor maintenance on equipment
* Control stock of PPE
* Follow up on non-conformances from QA daily
* Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization of items
* Change sanitizer every two hours
* Wash items in priority order
* Keep waste bins and recycling containers clean for return to the factory
* Follow personal hygiene procedures
* Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
* Carry out efficient clean-downs
* Undertake 'Basic Food Hygiene' training; a pass level is required
Personal Attributes:
* Good English and Maths skills
* Positive attitude
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Provide feedback to team leaders/supervisors
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Previous factory experience
* Experience working night shifts
* Chemical awareness training
* Basic computer skills
* Training in COSHH, Fork Lift operation, Cleaning in Food premises, Basic Food Hygiene (or willingness to complete)
