Location: Loughton, Essex
Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to work closely with the managing director of a busy Accountancy and Tax practice and Property Development Company, on projects in North East London/West Essex.
Role summary: provide first class support in overseeing and ensuring the smooth functioning of critical IT infrastructure, encompassing operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
Responsibilities
* Designing and implementing efficient and reliable networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN), configuring software, servers, routers, and other network components.
* Monitoring network performance and integrity; proactively troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure issues; streamlining tasks through automation.
* Implementing robust backup procedures for servers and ensuring comprehensive technical documentation.
* Proposing enhancements to optimise network performance, capacity, and scalability.
* Planning, organising, controlling, and assessing IT and electronic data operations.
* Spearheading the design, development, implementation, and coordination of servers, policies, and procedures.
* Ensuring alignment with user needs and server functionality, contributing to organisational policy.
* Providing help desk and technical services assistance to on-site and remote employees.
* Managing all aspects of the implementation and operation of information and functional systems for the organisation, including software applications, network, phone systems and end-user computers.

* 3rd Line Windows server support
* Demonstrable VMware skills
* MS Exchange
* Internet and routing protocols
* SQL support
* Understanding of Cloud Computing
* Network security and architecture experience
* Microsoft Windows
* Active Directory and similar tools
* PC and printer hardware
* Microsoft Office
* Outlook
* Networking protocols/technologies
* Server administration
* NAS, SAN storage device maintenance
* Disaster recovery and backup management
* Veritas, Veeam and Windows Backup
* Hyper-V and VMware understanding
* Cisco Meraki firewalls knowledge
* Troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange and related technical issues
* CCTV knowledge and related technical issues
Personal Attributes
* Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels of the business
* Ability to work proactively, take initiative, and own tasks
* Clean UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles (not essential)
* Experience of 3 years in a similar role (desirable)
