Overview
We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and committed individuals with proven leadership and management skills to join a rapidly expanding organisation as Service Manager for Diagnostic services including imaging and laboratory services.
Context
The GJNUH hosts the regional WoS Cardiothoracic Service and three national services: Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service; Scottish Adult Cardiac Congenital Services; and the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit, in addition to delivering national elective services as part of the National Waiting Times Centre. GJNUH provides essential waiting times imaging for all Health Boards in NHS Scotland, along with specialist cardiac imaging services as part of the regional Cardiothoracic Centre.
Radiology and Cardiovascular Imaging
The Radiology department provides imaging across modalities, including CT scanning, MRI (General and Cardiac), Ultrasound, DXA, Theatres and Plain Film. The department also supports regional interventional Cardiology services via 5 Cardiac Cath Labs. The Radiology equipment profile is in excess of £11 million, delivering approximately 84,000 imaging procedures per annum. It is a dynamic service, constantly evolving to meet the needs of service users.
Laboratory Services
Excellent onsite laboratory services include biochemistry, haematology and microbiology. The Service Manager will be instrumental in supporting and leading the development of laboratory services, and will play a key role in leading further growth of diagnostic services in line with the Board Strategy.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent with specialist knowledge in healthcare service management and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
* Operational Management experience in a busy acute site and a proven track record in service redesign and improvement.
