GSL Education are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work within welcoming and forward-thinking secondary schools in Sheffield. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or individuals with previous school-based experience who are passionate about supporting young people's education. As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in the classroom by delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing student behaviour, and ensuring a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Support students with their work and encourage engagement. Maintain a calm, focused, and supportive learning environment. Follow lesson plans and provide feedback to teaching staff where required. Requirements for Cover Supervisor Previous experience working in a school, youth setting, or as a Cover Supervisor is desirable. CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Confidence in leading groups of students and delivering prepared work. A positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
