Job Summary
We are looking for a committed CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to work in a low and medium secure hospital located in Charlwood, Surrey. The facility specializes in treating male patients aged 18+ who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and who will benefit from extended treatment and rehabilitation.
To be considered you must hold a Full GMC registration.
Key Responsibilities
* Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
* Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans for all patients on the unit
* Conduct risk assessments and review them regularly
* Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
* Assess physical health
* Ensure effective liaison with referring teams
* Facilitate regular CPA review meetings
* Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
* Involve in quality, inspections and governance processes
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable
* Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+
* Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
* Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
* In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
* Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles
