Job Summary
We are seeking both full‑time and part‑time GPs to join our friendly team in Cockermouth, a thriving market town on the edge of the breath‑taking Lake District National Park. The role focuses on delivering core family practice, with an emphasis on exceptional patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities
* Manage patient caseloads in a primary care setting, ensuring high standards of care.
* Provide face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, as well as home visits.
* Conduct surgery and telephone consultations, sign repeat prescriptions and manage paperwork and correspondence efficiently.
* Participate in on‑call duties as duty doctor or triage doctor, handling urgent appointments and emergencies.
* Make autonomous clinical decisions, assess health needs, screen for disease risk factors, develop care plans, provide counselling and health education.
* Record clear consultation notes, collect audit data, and comply with practice policies and guidelines.
* Support cross‑covering for other GPs during leave, and oversee administrative tasks such as issuing prescriptions.
Other Responsibilities Within the Organisation
* Maintain compliance with practice policies, confidentiality, data protection and health and safety.
* Commit to lifelong learning and audit to promote evidence‑based practice.
* Contribute to practice and clinical meetings; support evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting.
* Help develop and maintain computer‑based patient records and patient data coding.
* Attend training and events; participate in incentive schemes such as Enhanced Services and QOF.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in general practice within a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong EMIS knowledge.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practise and entry on the GP Register.
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or equivalent.
* Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR) or equivalent.
* Membership of a Medical Performers List or eligibility.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Evidence of other specialist interest, development or training.
