People & Operations Assistant

The opportunity:
The People & Operations Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR function, and maintaining team culture. This role is perfect for someone who is highly organized, proactive, people-oriented, and eager to grow within a purpose-led business.
Some of what you'll do:
People administration and experience:
* HR Administration & Operations
* Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including contracts, equipment, welcome packs, and checklists.
* Maintain and update HRIS and employee databases.
* Help coordinate training, development, and wellbeing initiatives.
* Assist in organizing team events, offsites, and internal communications.
* Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
* Support recruitment logistics: interview scheduling, posting job ads, candidate communications.
Operational administrative support:
* Office administration, including ordering supplies, and travel booking
* Data entry and reporting, including CRM administration
* Act as a liaison between departments to ensure processes run smoothly
* Process improvement: Helping document and streamline internal processes or assist with system updates
Who you are:
* 2+ years of experience in HR admin, office coordination, or similar roles (startup/scale-up experience a plus).
* Understanding of HR processes and confidentiality
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and great at multitasking.
* Discreet and trustworthy with access to confidential information.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency with tools like Google Workspace, and HR and CRM platforms
Nice to have:
* Experience in a sustainability, impact, or mission-driven organization.
* Familiarity with employment legislation or HR compliance in UK.
* A passion for sustainability and building inclusive team cultures.
* Event or project coordination experience.
