We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Fostering Team in Wirral. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well‑being, and development of children in foster care. You will work collaboratively with foster families, children, and other professionals to provide high‑quality support and intervention, making a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children.
Responsibilities
* Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers and ensuring they meet the necessary standards.
* Developing and maintaining effective relationships with children, foster families, and other stakeholders.
* Creating and implementing care plans tailored to meet the individual needs of children in care.
* Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring they have the resources needed to provide a safe environment.
* Participating in multi‑agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
* A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Experience working within a fostering or child protection setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in fostering and child welfare.
