Based in Belfast, you will join a collaborative leadership team committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality business insight. Your new role As Financial Controller, you will report to the Finance Director and take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the finance function. You will lead and manage the finance team, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information to support business decision- responsibilities include managing core finance processes (sales, purchases, payroll, banking, and stock), overseeing month-end close and reconciliations, and ensuring compliance across all accounting activities. You will design, develop, and enhance the control environment, streamline processes, and work closely with the Head of Reporting delivering meaningful management information. You will also take responsibility for VAT submissions, liaise with external accountants, and support ongoing improvements to the chart of accounts and reporting structure. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. You will bring proven experience managing teams and strong technical accounting knowledge, with a clear understanding of reporting will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to improve processes and implement effective controls. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders are also will ideally have experience of working in a construction or engineering environment.
