Job Overview
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our inpatient therapy team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) as a band 4 assistant practitioner.
Applicants should hold an AP qualification or an equivalent degree in a health care related topic.
Experience within an acute or rehabilitation health care setting is essential for this role. The assistant practitioner will cover an appropriate caseload across a variety of clinical areas, including some elements of community working.
Main Duties of the Job
The role involves working alongside Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues to assess and deliver therapeutic interventions that maximise functional ability.
Formal supervision and annual appraisal are provided to support development. In‑service training and other relevant training opportunities are also available.
Peer support is available from existing band 4 staff within the MDT, including occupational therapy, stroke and supported discharge teams.
The role will contribute to projects focused on length of stay, patient flow and MDT working, and will include weekend working as we move towards a 7‑day service.
Candidates should be driven, keen to learn, and possess strong efficiency and organisational skills, as well as leadership qualities that support the technical instructor team.
