Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position:

We are a patient-centred charity that delivers palliative and end of life care to those with advanced life-limiting illnesses, who live in Northwest Surrey. We care for patients and provide support to families and carers in the community as well as in our In-Patient Unit and Well Being Centre at the Hospice.

You will, therefore, be joining a passionate and dedicated team of professionals that make a real difference to the families across Surrey community.

Admin Colleague

A successful Housekeeper will:

* Provide a comprehensive housekeeping service for Woking Hospice, its patients, visitors, Consultants and staff in a smart, professional and economical manner.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
* Adhere to all aspects of Infection Control in all areas of work and ensure that all waste (including contaminated waste) is transferred to appropriate bins for collection.
* To ensure patients privacy and dignity is maintained throughout your work.
* Replenish stocks of disposable items, i.e. paper hand towels, soap.
* To identify reduced stock levels of materials needed for cleaning programme to Housekeeping Supervisor or Head of Health & Safety and Facilities
* To undertake general cleaning duties of any areas of the main hospice building and external buildings directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure that all areas are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

A successful candidate will have:

* Previous housekeeping experience in a Healthcare environment
* Be able to prioritise their duties
* Be confident and self-motivated
* Demonstrate a passionate commitment to the Hospice
* Be a team player and be able to build and maintain good relationships with the Housekeeping team
* Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment
* Have excellent communications skills
* Good Knowledge of Infection control

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not limiting in this position.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
