This is a 1PA Training Programme Director vacancy.
The role of Training Programme Director is to work with and support the Heads of School for Pathology and Medicine in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
The Training Programme Director is professionally and managerial accountable to the Head of School for Pathology. The role focuses on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engaging faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes now and in the future. It also involves whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.
To support the Postgraduate Dean, Training Programme Directors will work across health and social care sectors within a team to ensure education provision reflects changing service models, delivering an integrated workforce from diverse professional backgrounds.
Main duties of the job
The Programme Director will ensure compliance with national standards and local guidelines. Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the Haematology Regional Training Programme
* Addressing specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
* Recruitment to training posts and programmes
* Managing postgraduate programmes, including assessments, progression, rotations, support, remediation, OOP management, careers support, less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfer, academic training, and related activities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with thorough knowledge of Haematology training across the region, possessing strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-professional team.

Depending on experience, remuneration will align with TPD sessional payments.
