Overview

Specialist Registrar in Rheumatology. The post will provide excellent training and experience in the management of all aspects of Rheumatological conditions. Based within the Rheumatology Unit at Kettering General Hospital, the post holder will join a friendly and dynamic Rheumatology team comprising 4 Consultants, 1 GP trainee/SHO, 1 FY1 (shared with Dermatology), and 6 Nurse Practitioners.


Responsibilities

* Out-patient clinics responsibility
* Timely review of Rheumatology in-patient referrals
* Liaison with junior doctors to ensure timely and safe delivery of biological therapies and other infusions in the day unit
* Full supervision by Rheumatology Consultants
* Teaching opportunities for medical students
* Participation in weekly departmental meetings and hospital Grand Rounds
* Opportunity to conduct audits and participate in regional meetings

Job Responsibilities

Specialist Registrar in Rheumatology Job Description

The post offers excellent training in managing a wide range of rheumatological conditions. Based within the Rheumatology Unit at Kettering General Hospital, the post-holder will join a dynamic team of 4 Consultants, 1 GP trainee/SHO, 1 FY1 (shared with Dermatology), and 6 Nurse Practitioners. Duties include outpatient clinics, timely review of inpatient referrals, and liaising with junior staff to support delivery of biological therapies and infusions. The role is fully supervised by consultants, with opportunities for teaching Leicester medical students, participating in weekly departmental meetings, audits, and regional forums such as the Midlands Rheumatology Society.

Applicants must ensure professional registration is maintained and comply with Trust policies on safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection. A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check is required. Qualifications

Essential

* Full GMC Registration and a license to practice
* MB ChB or equivalent

Desirable

* Experience in Rheumatology
* An additional higher qualification

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a DBS submission may be necessary.

UK Registration: Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
