An exciting opportunity has arisen within Edinburgh City Football Club. We are looking for an Academy Analyst/Coach. The Academy Analyst/Coach will support the development of academy players within our Club Academy Scotland U17s & U19s as well as our Development Squad through the effective use of video analysis, performance feedback, and targeted on-pitch support.
This is a voluntary position. No financial remuneration will be provided, except for pre-approved reimbursement or referral payments agreed with the Academy Director or Chief Executive Officer in advance.

Role Summary
Working closely with the Head of Academy, Heads of Phase, and coaching staff, the role will contribute to the delivery of a consistent, evidence-led player development programme across the Academy.
This position plays a key role in enhancing learning, understanding, and decision-making for players and coaches by integrating video, data, and applied coaching within the club’s agreed playing philosophy and development framework.
The role will involve evening and weekend work, including matchdays, and may include a blended delivery model of in-person, online, and pre-recorded analysis support.
Responsibilities
Manage the setup, operation, and collection of VEO equipment during academy matchdays, all fixtures are captured to the required standard.
Clip, cut, and organise match footage to produce relevant video content for squads, units, and individual players.
Maintain a structured video and presentation library using the club’s agreed storage platform.
Deliver video-based feedback sessions to players, either:
* Via online platforms (e.g. Zoom)
* Through pre-recorded presentations
Work collaboratively with Head Coaches to align analysis content with session themes, game models, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Support portions of on-pitch coaching delivery, under the direction of the squad’s Head Coach, to reinforce learning outcomes from analysis.
Assist in the development and delivery of unit-specific or individual learning interventions (e.g. position-specific analysis).
Contribute to post-match and periodic performance reviews as required by the Academy Director or Heads of Phase.
Maintain clear communication with coaching staff to ensure analysis outputs are purposeful, age-appropriate, and consistent.
Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and Club Academy Scotland standards at all times.
Attend relevant training sessions, matches, meetings, and CPD events as required.
Experience/Qualifications
Experience working with video analysis within a football or sports environment.
Ability to clip, edit, and present video footage in a clear and engaging manner.
Strong understanding of player development principles within an academy setting.
Confidence in delivering information to players and coaches.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and player welfare.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends
SFA/UEFA coaching qualification
Coaching experience within a youth or academy football environment
