Salary: AfC Grade 8C - £87,526 £93,820 per annum (pro rata for part time)

The Role
The post holder will lead the strategic development and delivery of unscheduled care across Acute Services and all six HSCPs, aligning service redesign and improvement activity to NHSGGC’s Strategic Objectives and Scottish Government Unscheduled Care Performance Requirements.

Leading delivery of the National Redesign of Urgent Care Programme
* Strategic leadership of the HSCP Unscheduled Care Joint Commissioning Plan
* Oversight of the National 6 Essential Actions (6EA) Programme, including management of a £1.6m budget
* Leadership of the Level 4 Performance Escalation Programme, working closely with the Scottish Government to support de-escalation
* Providing expert performance analysis, reporting and assurance to the Chief Executive, Corporate Management Team and Scottish Government
The role will drive integrated urgent care models across community, primary, ambulatory and acute settings, improving access, reducing avoidable emergency department attendance and enabling care closer to home.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide corporate leadership for unscheduled care strategy, service modelling and system-wide redesign
* Lead complex, multi-year improvement programmes across Acute Services and HSCPs
* Act as NHSGGC’s senior point of contact with the Scottish Government on unscheduled care performance and improvement
* Lead advanced demand, capacity and performance analytics to inform executive and national decision-making
* Provide strategic leadership for urgent care eHealth development and digital innovation
* Lead, manage and influence senior teams and stakeholders across organisational boundaries
Person Specification
You Will Be An Experienced Senior Leader With
* Degree-level education (Masters preferred) or demonstrable equivalent strategic experience
* Significant senior management experience, preferably within the NHS
* A proven track record of delivering large-scale transformational change
* Expertise in performance management, demand and capacity modelling and improvement methodology (e.g. Lean / Six Sigma)
* Excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to operate at executive and national level

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change fulltime working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours. Parttime hours will reduce on a prorata basis. A corresponding increase in hourly pay will apply, ensuring that overall pay is not affected.
