At Leonardo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Campaign Manager to join our expanding EW Payloads team. The Electronics UK Business Unit designs, develops and produces a wide range of products and solutions for air, land and maritime platforms that include integrated mission systems, radars and sensors, electronic warfare systems, on-board avionics and communications, air launched effects and a range of support solutions.
There is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Development and Sales team providing world-leading RF Countermeasure (RFCM) solutions, to new and existing UK, US and International customers. This area of the business is growing quickly and you would be joining the team at an extremely exciting time. The role can be located at either our Luton or Lincoln sites, we are open to discuss flexibility, part time working and what that means to you. The core RFCM development team is based at our Luton site.
The role will be responsible for US-facing BriteStorm sales campaigns working alongside our Leonardo US Inc colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the AUKUS and NATO defence market, with specific experience gained from within the US DoW and at least one of the US Armed Forces branches. They should understand the critical importance of EW and spectrum dominance in US and coalition operations. The role will include considerable external level engagement with platform operators, commercial partners, mission data integrators and end users. The candidate must therefore have excellent communication skills and be credible when engaging with customers to help shape and influence the requirements. The role will require leadership qualities when dealing with internal stakeholders and supporting Integrated Campaign teams.
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to present detailed prospects to Business Winning Reviews in order to secure pursuit, bid and resourcing approvals. They will also develop bespoke win strategies, write proposals for customers, and assist with the preparation of private venture investment cases to develop new capabilities. They must also be comfortable undertaking accurate and well-informed market and competitor analysis. What matters most is your strong desire to understand and meet customer requirements and how you will demonstrate flexibility and agility to meet those customer needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
· Secure order intake to meet forecast targets for current and future years by generating and managing a portfolio of key campaigns and opportunities.
· Work closely with Integrated Campaign Teams and across the wider company to lead and/or support bid activity.
· Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end users and industrial partners.
· Fulfil a critical coordination role, developing and maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders including Leonardo US Inc, International Marketing, the Capability function, Sector IPTs and other functional areas.
· Utilise internal company procedures to ensure that opportunities are identified, tracked and accurately reported to senior management.
· Effective management and utilisation of the Leonardo Business Winning process to prosecute campaigns.
What we are looking for:
· Relevant sector experience and commercial knowledge. In particular, knowledge of the importance of EW in a multi-domain environment and offer a unique perspective on US Defence.
· Self-starter and highly motivated. Able to set short and long-term planning goals in line with campaign and business needs.
· Innovative thinker able to anticipate and overcome problems in a complex international sales environment.
· Excellent communications skills, capable of confidently briefing to senior stakeholders across industry, government and the military.
· Commercially and financially aware, preferably with experience of negotiating and closing complex deals in the international marketplace.
· Output oriented with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
· Ideally would have significant experience in developing, managing and leading key sales or strategic campaigns within the defence or other comparable sectors.
· Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures.
· Able to write compelling marketing content and proposals.
· Strong leadership and motivational skills; able to lead a team to successfully deliver quality output during high pressure bid and customer response activity.
· Occasional requirement to work to extremely tight deadlines.
· Required to make frequent visits (including overnight stays) to customer facilities in both the UK and overseas.
