Job Description:
We are looking for capable, experienced, and proactive individuals to join our growing team as Chemical Process Engineers. These are high-impact roles, ideal for engineers who thrive on technical complexity, process rigor, and innovation. This role involves contributing to the regeneration of the Raynesway Nuclear Licensed Site, replacing current facilities with modern manufacturing capabilities. You will work across multiple projects, ensuring engineering and project requirements are met, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. The role offers support from a community of around 3,000 engineers and opportunities for training and development. The position is based in Derby with hybrid working options.
Applicants with nuclear facilities experience are preferred, but those interested in redeploying their skills in new areas are encouraged to apply. Key responsibilities include acting as the 'Intelligent Customer' for chemical engineering design and construction, ensuring safety principles are embedded, developing design requirements, reviewing documentation, and ensuring proper commissioning and decommissioning of chemical systems. You will also support the Engineering Manager in ensuring qualified personnel perform chemical engineering work and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications include a Chemical/Process Engineering degree or equivalent, experience in nuclear or conventional facilities, familiarity with nuclear safety regulations, and professional membership or progress towards Chartered Engineer status. Knowledge of process safety, control principles, and high hazard site experience (e.g., COMAH) is advantageous.
Why join Rolls-Royce? We offer development opportunities, competitive salary, benefits, and a culture of inclusion and innovation. The role supports hybrid working, balancing office and remote work. Security clearance is required, and support will be provided for UK nationals or MoD-approved dual nationals.
