We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work as a Clinical Team Leader in Paediatric School-aged Services within Conwy County.

As part of this role, there are opportunities to work as a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist within the School-aged Services Speech and Language Therapy Team and be the Operational Line Manager for the team.

The role will involve the following sessions:


* Clinical Team Leader (2 sessions per week)
* Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, School Aged Services (8 sessions per week)

The Team Leader post holder will be responsible for all elements of operational line management of staff members working within their team (including but not limited to day to day support and queries, carrying out regular management supervision with staff members, supporting the team and services to develop) and will be directly involved in recruitment exercises within the team.

The clinical aspect of the post will involve holding a highly specialist clinical caseload within the school-aged services in Conwy and will be responsible for identifying opportunities for service development and redesign to meet the changing population need.

The post holder will be a member of the friendly and supportive SLT Leadership and Management group. A full range of support and training will be available.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Team Leader:

* Directly line manage a team of SLTs, working together with the Head and Deputy Head of Service and colleagues to support equitable service provision and development.
* Using demonstrable coaching and facilitative skills to enable the team to provide high quality clinical services and to think outside of traditional boundaries of service provision and development.
* Woking with other SLT staff to ensure operational and clinical service development are joined together.
* Responding innovatively to service pressures and prioritising service activities according to local needs.
* Leadership and strategic oversight of service areas to provide equitability and accessibility of support and timely intervention.

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist:

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in S<
* HCPC registered
* Post graduate study relevant to clinical area at Masters level or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development e.g. up to date, relevant CPD portfolio.

Desirable criteria

* Membership of appropriate clinical network group
* Other professional or academic qualification which relates to clinical practice
* Accredited Practice Placement Educator Certificate
* Clinical supervisory skills training

Experience

Essential criteria

* Significant experience clinically in area of specialism
* Experience of clinical leadership
* Significant experience of leading multidisciplinary / multiprofessional teams
* Experience in service development / improvement
* Delivering Practice Supervision
* Contributing to Student training

Desirable criteria

* Experience of project management
* Experience in leading service development / improvement
* Eperience of operational service management
* Leadership/management qualification
