Leadership promotes teamwork, respect and continuous improvement across all departments. About the Role You will play an essential role in ensuring the school operates smoothly on a daily basis. Responsibilities include: • Opening, securing and maintaining the school buildings and grounds • Carrying out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, painting and basic DIY • Supervising cleaning teams and liaising with external contractors when needed • Conducting daily site checks and reporting any safety concerns • Monitoring heating, lighting, security and fire alarm systems • Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations, risk assessments and statutory checks • Maintaining outdoor areas, including playgrounds, pathways and car parks • Assisting with room setups for meetings, events and assemblies • Responding swiftly to emergencies, maintenance issues and operational needs This role requires someone who can work independently, take initiative and manage time effectively while maintaining high standards. Experience and Qualifications • Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience desirable • Strong practical skills across DIY, repairs and basic maintenance • Reliable, professional and confident working independently • Good communication and organisational skills • Understanding of site security and health & safety procedures • Willingness to complete training such as COSHH, First Aid or H&S certifications Salary Support staff salary scale, dependent on experience.
