Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role
A Test & Validation Engineer (HV PT & Charging Systems) is a high-level technical role responsible for the final quality assurance of electric vehicle (EV) high-voltage powertrains and charging infrastructures. You will serve as the "quality gate," ensuring that systems like Battery Management Systems (BMS), DC-DC converters, and On-Board Chargers (OBC) meet rigorous safety and performance standards.
Area of Responsibility
* Test Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts based on complex system requirements.
* System Validation: Execute functional, performance, and robustness testing on high-voltage (400V/800V) systems from cell level to full vehicle integration.
* Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis: Capture and analyze data logs to identify the root causes of charging failures or communication issues using tools like Wireshark or CANoe.
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure all systems comply with critical international standards such as ISO 15118, IEC 61851, DIN 70121, and functional safety standard ISO 26262.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to resolve defects and verify fixes.
Knowledge / Experience
* Bachelors degree with strong experience operating in T&V setups.
* Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of EV charging protocols including CCS, NACS, CHAdeMO, and Type 2.
* HV Safety: Strong knowledge of high-voltage safety procedures; being an Authorized Person (AP) or Senior Authorized Person (SAP) is often highly desirable.
* Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with:
o Communication Protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
o Diagnostic Tools: VectorCANoe/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, and UDS Diagnostics.
o Lab Equipment: Oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters, and EVSE simulators.
* Education: A degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, or Mechanical Engineering is typically required.
