Position Details
Title: Activity Instructor
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Contract: Seasonal work during school holidays
Pay: £95.26 - £120.41 (inclusive of holiday pay, based on an 8.5-hour day). Pay varies with age, experience, and qualifications.
Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm weekdays. Full or part season roles available. Additional hours for staff with paediatric first aid qualification (usually 8 am – 6 pm).
Role Summary
The Activity Instructor ensures the welfare and safety of children on camp and delivers engaging, structured activities. You will lead activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and games for children aged 6-14, focusing on participation, care, and development. We provide training and support to help you develop your skills and knowledge in childcare.
In addition to leading sessions, staff contribute to the high standards of physical, emotional, and social care. The role includes pastoral responsibilities, overseeing a group of children, maintaining their welfare, and providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver activities for children aged 6-14, promoting participation and enjoyment.
* Lead a group of children, welcoming newcomers and liaising with the Camp Manager and parents as needed.
* Supervise children outside activity times, ensuring their welfare at all times.
* Act as a positive role model with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
* Follow all camp policies and procedures, including health, safety, and safeguarding.

Candidate Qualities
* Experience working with children and delivering activities.
* Ability to adapt activity delivery based on age and ability.
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about child development through play.
* Good organizational and communication skills; confident in leading children and taking responsibility.
* Flexible team player, adaptable to dynamic situations.
* Motivated by a rewarding, fun holiday job with opportunities for career progression in childcare and coaching.
* Relevant sport, arts, performing arts, teaching, or childcare qualification (or working towards one).
* Experience managing a group of children independently.
* Paediatric First Aid (12 or 6-hour) or First Aid at Work qualification (courses can be provided).
