A key focus of this role will be to identify key roadblocks through regular WIP reviews, ensure root causes are resolved, complete billing forecasts and drive quality billing against target, with key duties surrounding:Establish and maintain relationships across the business with Partners, secretaries and business managersAttend regular WIP review meetings with Partners and secretaries to understand the nature of WIP balances and agree on appropriate billing actionsReview Aged WIP, missed billing targets, high WIP/lockup days and coordinate escalationsMonitor & complete billing forecasts/estimates and drive quality billing against targetSupport complex billing & E Billing challengesCoordinating reviews & billing pledges, update billing status for key matters/ClientsReview & monitor processing timelines with agreed actions sanctioned by PartnerMonitor non billable activity across out of scope work, overruns and disbursementsMonitor WIP write off & write down activityIdentify matters which require escalation to achieve billing action and relay information to the WIP Management managerAnalyse the Practice WIP ledgers to identify priorities and risksRisk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policiesMaintain and regularly update matter WIP activities in line with established best practicePrepare reports for major client accounts, partners or clients as requestedPrepare and send WIP management related correspondence to internal clientsSupport WIP Review & pre billing processing, where requiredAttend WIP portfolio review meetings with WIP Management Manager to discuss outstanding issuesReview Practice billing & reversal activity highlighting root causesTo be successful in this role, the following experience is required:Previous experience in WIP management or Billing roles, ideally in legal or professional services sectorsDemonstrated knowledge of WIP processes, reporting, and risk managementExperience in a law firm is advantageous but not requiredStrong attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.Proficiency in negotiation and practical problem-solvingCapable of working under tight deadlines and pressureOrganised and methodical work approachTeam player with a cooperative and flexible attitudeTrack record of meeting targets and deadlines, both individually and as part of a teamProactive and self-motivatedUnderstanding of SRA regulations is preferredComfortable working with Enterprise IT systems, preferably ERPs like Elite 3eOffering a competitive base salary, great benefits, a hybrid working model & a fantastic, supportive team environment.Please get in touch with Emma Ritchie at Iconic Resourcing Ltd. for a confidential discussion.At Iconic Resourcing, we understand that not all candidates will meet every single desired qualification or skill for the job positions posted on behalf of our clients.
