Overview
Our client is a leading company in the heavy engineering industry, seeking a reliable and skilled General Ops/Labourer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain specialized training in sand/grit blasting, working alongside experienced engineers in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
* Perform general operational tasks, including housekeeping and maintenance of the shop floor
* Operate various shop floor equipment, machinery, and power and hand tools
* Undergo training to become a Blaster (Sand/Grit), ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
* Collaborate with a team of engineers to achieve project goals and deadlines
* Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company health and safety policies
Requirements
* Familiarity with shop floor equipment, machinery, and power and hand tools
* Previous blasting experience is an advantage, but not essential - we're willing to train the right candidate
* Reliable, focused, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship
* Ability to work effectively within a team of engineers
* Driving Licence is essential
* Current FLT (Fork Lift Truck) licence is a significant advantage
