Take control of complex construction schedules on a major capital project from day one. Our Client has a requirement for a Construction Project Scheduler, who will be required to work on a contract basis, on site in Immingham.
Role Purpose
* Plan and schedule projects through the construction phase to start‑up
* Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules and logic networks
* Provide schedule governance including forecasting, earned value, and variance analysis
* Support risk management, contingency planning, and schedule quality assurance
* Report directly to the Project Manager / Construction Manager on a large on‑site capital project
Job Role Responsibilities
* Maintain integrated schedules reflecting engineering, procurement, and construction interdependencies
* Develop baseline, time‑phased schedules with appropriate constraints and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
* Monitor progress against baseline and report schedule analysis to project leadership
* Lead weekly schedule review meetings with engineering, procurement, construction, and project discipline leads
* Collect and validate project status including engineering deliverables, procurement schedules, and installation dates
* Organize and facilitate risk assessment reviews as directed by Planning/Scheduling and Project Management
* Modify logic networks to support risk mitigation and contingency planning
* Prepare earned value reports and KPI variance reporting against the Project Plan
* Develop and program approved recovery or workaround plans
* Interface with contractor planning and scheduling specialists to ensure integration of contractor data
* Coordinate planning‑focused meetings to highlight upcoming milestones and key project events
* Challenge contractor progress, reporting accuracy, and execution plans where necessary
* Demonstrate strong planning methodology and scheduling best practice
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications
* Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience planning and scheduling large downstream projects
* At least 3 years’ field scheduling experience
* Proven ability to independently consolidate and analyse data from multiple sources
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential); MS Project familiarity beneficial
* Strong organisational and project planning skills
* Demonstrable experience producing KPI reports and presenting to senior management
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment
