Job Details:
We have an excellent full-time opportunity to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital.
Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Cheadle, Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help people live their best life in a safe and supportive environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Clinical:
* Work as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT.
* Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT.
* Conduct timely assessments of referrals with the MDT.
* Perform comprehensive assessments and treatment planning with patients, external stakeholders, and carers.
* Chair MDT/CPA meetings; adhere to organisational admission and discharge policies.
* Ensure timely discharge GP notifications and summaries.
* Contribute to unit governance through expertise and leadership.
* Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings, including providing evidence.
* Participate in a non-resident second on-call rota, approximately 1:7 frequency.
Management:
* Provide clinical leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager.
* Ensure ward compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
* Attend ward governance meetings with the ward manager.
* Engage in organisational quality improvement initiatives.
* Attend monthly governance and academic meetings.
* Participate in case presentations, teaching, audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Post Requirements:
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree and MRCPsych with S12/AC approval.
* Full GMC registration with license to practice.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated codes.
* Committed to ongoing professional development.
* Desirable: significant experience in inpatient mental health acute units.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
