About the Role
As a Therapeutic Support Assistant, you will work closely with students in the classroom, providing consistent, person-centred support tailored to their individual needs. You will use structured, relational, and autism-informed approaches to help students engage with learning, develop communication skills, and manage daily routines.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support tailored to individual learning and communication needs
* Support students with routines, transitions, and engagement in lessons
* Use autism-informed strategies (visual supports, structured approaches)
* Support emotional regulation in a calm and consistent manner
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
* Encourage independence, confidence, and life skills

Ideal Candidate
* Graduate in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Speech & Language, or a related field
* Experience supporting young people (education, care, youth work, mentoring, SEN support)
* Patient, proactive, and comfortable supporting additional needs
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Understanding or interest in autism and neurodiversity
* DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
