This hybrid position combines surveying, estimating, client management and project delivery. It suits an individual who enjoys variety, client interaction, technical problem solving and taking responsibility from initial survey through to completion.Role OverviewThe Contracts Manager and Estimator manages roofing works and wider building faade maintenance and repair projects.
The role oversees enquiries through to completion, ensuring strong customer service, commercial performance, quality and safety.Key responsibilities includeConducting roof surveys, inspections and condition assessmentsPreparing quotations, estimates and scopes of workManaging client relationships and providing technical adviceLeading project planning and mobilisation activitiesManaging subcontractors and delivery teamsMonitoring project performance, quality, programme and costsEnsuring compliance with health and safety requirementsProducing survey reports, progress updates and completion documentationIdentifying opportunities for additional works and long-term maintenance solutionsSupporting business growth through service quality and client retentionCandidate ProfileThe successful individual combines technical roofing knowledge with strong project management and commercial capability. A proactive approach, strong communication skills and the ability to see tasks through to completion are essential.Essential experienceBackground in roofing, construction, maintenance or building fabric projectsExperience estimating and pricing worksStrong understanding of roofing systems and repair methodologiesAbility to read drawings, specifications and technical informationStrong organisational and planning skillsExcellent communication and client-facing capabilityFull UK Driving LicenceProactive and solutions-focused mindsetDesirable experienceExperience managing roofing contracts or projectsKnowledge of flat roofing, pitched roofing and building fabric repairsHealth and Safety qualifications such as SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSHExperience managing subcontractors and site teamsKnowledge of project management systems and reporting toolsTPBN1_UKTJ
