Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering (Didcot) - Drive Quality on Major Infrastructure Projects
My client is seeking a proactive and driven Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering who takes pride in maintaining excellence across all stages of project delivery.
What you will be doing
- Implementing and maintaining the QA/QC management system on site
- Coordinating inspections with subcontractors and vendors
- Liaising with client representatives on all quality-related matters
- Managing and distributing QA/QC documentation
- Ensuring all site activities comply with codes, standards, and specifications
- Participating in internal and external audits
- Compiling quality documentation for project handover
- Managing non-conformance reports and implementing corrective actions
- Monitoring and enforcing the site Quality Control Plan
- Coordinating technical submittals and approvals
- Leading and chairing quality meetings with subcontractors
- Developing inspection and test plans
- Ensuring all quality documentation is current and accurate
- Working closely with site and construction management teams
What you will need to succeed
- A degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- Proven experience in a quality-focused role within civil engineering or construction
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
- Experience conducting internal and external audits
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management tools
Desirable
- Recognised Quality Management qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
